AG Platkin: Division of Consumer Affairs Issues 19 Notices of Violation to Stores After Investigation into Illegal Sales of Flavored Vapor Products Banned in New Jersey

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs (“Division”) announced today that 19 New Jersey retailers were issued Notices of Violation (“NOVs”) and assessed civil penalties of $4,500 each for allegedly violating the state’s consumer protection laws by offering and selling flavored vapor products that are banned for sale in New Jersey.

Grand Jury Returns Indictment Against Ex-Candidate for Plainfield Mayor Who Allegedly Tried to Submit Nearly 1,000 Fraudulent Voter Registration Applications

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability (OPIA) today announced that a state grand jury indicted a former candidate for mayor of Plainfield, New Jersey, charging the defendant with attempting to submit hundreds of fraudulent voter registration applications to Union County election officials and then engaging in an attempt to cover up his actions.
