“No-Knock” Warrants
Directive Regulating “No-Knock” Warrants
On December 7, 2021, Acting Attorney General Bruck issued Directive 2021-12, requiring County Prosecutors to track applications for “no knock warrants” and provide an annual summary of those applications to the Attorney General. Each county will submit—for each agency within its jurisdiction—the # of applications for “no knock” provisions applied for to the court, the # of applications for “no knock” provisions approved by a court, and the # of no knock entries justified by exigent circumstances.
Beginning with the reporting period of January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024, No Knock Warrants must be reported via the Law Enforcement Reporting Portal.
