Second man also sentenced to prison in investigation of violent Bloods set

TRENTON – Acting Attorney General Ricardo Solano Jr. and Criminal Justice Director Deborah L. Gramiccioni announced that a member of the Nine Trey Gangsters set of the Bloods street gang from Cape May County was sentenced to state prison today for racketeering along with a second man who admitted dealing drugs with the gang in Newark.

According to Director Gramiccioni, Oscar Randall, 41, of Lower Township, was sentenced to 15 years in state prison by Superior Court Judge Robert C. Billmeier in Mercer County. Randall pleaded guilty on Sept. 28 to first-degree racketeering. He admitted that he was a member of the Nine Trey Gangsters and conspired with other members of the gang to distribute narcotics.

In addition, Judge Billmeier sentenced Stanley Foote, 29, of Newark, to 10 years in state prison. Foote pleaded guilty on Sept. 28 to second-degree conspiracy to distribute narcotics. He admitted selling drugs in Newark with members of the Nine Trey Gangsters.

Supervising Deputy Attorney General Andrew Butchko prosecuted the defendants.

Randall and Foote were among 48 defendants indicted in June 2007 as a result of a joint investigation by the New Jersey State Police and the Division of Criminal Justice. The Division of Criminal Justice Gangs & Organized Crime Bureau has obtained guilty pleas from 39 of the defendants named in the indictment. One leader of the gang, Michael Smart, 27, of Irvington, was tried in January 2009, convicted and sentenced to 70 years in state prison, including 46 years without parole. The other defendants received sentences of between five and 16 years in state prison.

The Division of Criminal Justice and New Jersey State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Newark Police Department, Irvington Police Department, Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Atlantic City Police Department and Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
