Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin Sues to Stop Trump Administration From Cutting Essential Public Health Funding

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin joined a coalition of 23 states and the District of Columbia in filing a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for abruptly and illegally terminating nearly $11 billion in critical public health grants to the states, including more than $350 million in federal funding for New Jersey.

AG Platkin, Division of Highway Traffic Safety Announce Over $1 Million for Initiative to Combat Distracted Driving

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Highway Traffic Safety (HTS) have announced the launch of a high visibility enforcement effort to reduce distracted driving. The campaign, known as “Put the Phone Away or Pay,” runs from April 1 through April 30, and provides funding for law enforcement agencies throughout the state to bolster enforcement of laws prohibiting texting and other forms of distracted driving.

AG Platkin Joins Multistate Coalition in Requesting Meeting with Trump Administration Officials to Express Concerns Over Potential Rollback of Abortion Care for Veterans and their families

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin joined a coalition of six attorneys general in sending a letter to Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Doug Collins and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Russell Vought requesting a meeting to urge the Trump Administration to preserve a federal rule that provides veterans and their families access to vital reproductive health services, including abortion care.

AG Platkin: Suspended Department of Children and Families Employee Charged After Allegedly Taking Payments to Share Confidential Case Information

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Office of Public Integrity & Accountability (OPIA) announced the filing of criminal charges against a suspended information technology employee with the Department of Children and Families (DCF), who allegedly accepted unlawful payments to provide case assistance and confidential information to two individuals who had separate matters being handled by DCF.
