Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin Joins Multistate Lawsuit Against Trump Administration Over Illegal Cuts to Federal Agencies

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin joined a coalition of 21 attorneys general in filing a lawsuit against the Trump Administration to stop the dismantling of three federal agencies—the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Minority Business Development Agency, and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service– that provide services and funding supporting public libraries and museums, workers, and minority-owned businesses nationwide.

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin commended a ruling by the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island granting a temporary restraining order that prevents the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., from abruptly and illegally terminating $11 billion in critical public health grants to the states, including more than $350 million in federal funding for New Jersey.

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin today joined a coalition of 19 attorneys general in filing a lawsuit against President Donald J. Trump, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, the federal Election Assistance Commission, and other Trump Administration officials over Executive Order No. 14248 (the Elections Executive Order), which imposes sweeping voting restrictions across the country.
