Date of Proposal: May 20, 2019
Proposal Number: PRN 2019-057
Proposal Summary:
The Division on Civil Rights proposes to readopt, with amendments, N.J.A.C. 13:8 concerning the display of official Division posters designed to promote public awareness and compliance with both the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and the Family Leave Act. N.J.A.C. 13:8 sets forth rules requiring places of public accommodation, employers and employment agencies, housing providers and those engaged in the sale or rental of real estate, among others, to display the appropriate official Division poster governing discrimination. In order to make it easier for covered entities to comply, the rules were amended in 2006 to provide that official Division posters are to be made available for downloading and printing from the Division’s website. (Posters also remain available at any office of the Division.) Consistent with the effort to encourage compliance, the 2006 amendments also reduced the required size of the posters from legal size to letter size. The current proposal is to readopt N.J.A.C. 13:8 as amended in 2006, with additional amendments to update the Division’s
website address.
