NEWARK – The Division of Consumer Affairs has proposed amendments to rules regarding the performance of Fiber Optic Endoscopic Examination of Swallowing (FEES) by a licensed speech-language pathologist.

N.J.A.C. 13:44C-7.2A requires a physician who completed training during residency in endoscopic examination to be present whenever a licensed speech-language pathologist performs FEES. The proposal amends this rule so that physicians could complete such training post-residency.
